DESCRIPTION:Harper River – Hamilton Hut\n\nSaturday 12 September\nTrip Le
ader: Godfrey\nTrip Grade: 3+\n\nMeeting Point:\n10:00am at the intersecti
on of Homestead Road and Algidus Road\, Lake Coleridge.\n\nThis trip will
head up the Harper River toward Hamilton Hut.\n\nThe main purpose of the t
rip is to spread the ashes of Graham Pullman\, a well-respected club membe
r and friend to many in the 4WD community. Godfrey has been coordinating w
ith former club members and other clubs\, so we may end up with quite a la
rge convoy.\n\nThe Harper is generally a straightforward drive\, but there
are a few larger boulders in the river that have a habit of catching peop
le out.\n\nRequirements\n\n\n	Snorkel recommended\n	Recovery gear required
\n	Suitable recovery points front and rear\n\n\nPlan\n\nWe'll make our way
up the Harper River to the Hamilton Hut area where we will gather to reme
mber Graham and spread his ashes.\n\nAfterwards we'll head back out the ri
ver.\n\nOvernight Option\n\nFor those wanting to make a weekend of it\, th
e plan is to head into the Avoca River for camping on Saturday night and t
hen drive out on Sunday.\n\nNotes\n\nExpect:\n\n\n	River crossings\n	Rocky
riverbed driving\n	Great scenery\n	A chance to catch up with old friends
and club members\n\n\nThis will be as much about remembering Graham as it
 is about the drive itself.\n\nCurrently attending\n\nBarry McDowell\n\nLar
ry Mouat\n\nBlair Reed\n\nAlex Musalov\n\nThis section is updated from the
  TidyHQ registrations.\n

DESCRIPTION:Waimakariri River Clean-up\n\nSunday 9 August\n\nTrip Leader: A
lan Geeves\n\nThis time we're helping Environment Canterbury clean up part
of the Waimakariri River Regional Park. It's a good chance to give someth
ing back to an area many of us use throughout the year.\n\nThe event is su
itable whether you want to help on foot or bring your 4WD. Members with tr
ailers are especially useful for reaching and removing larger rubbish from
areas that are difficult to access.\n\nMeeting Point \n\nHarrs Road on t
he upstream side of the Eyre River Ford\n\nTime\n9:30am – 12:30pm\n\nBBQ
lunch provided afterwards.\n\nPlease note\nRegistration with Environment
Canterbury is essential. You can register here:\nhttps://www.ecan.govt.nz/

DESCRIPTION:Sunday 25 October\n\nOur friends at Canterbury Off Road Racing
Club (CORC) are looking for volunteers to help marshal their endurance rac
e at the West Melton off-road racing track.\n\nThis is something a bit dif
ferent from our usual club trips and a good opportunity to support another
off-road club. You'll be stationed at one of the checkpoints around the c
ourse\, watching the racing\, keeping an eye on your section\, and communi
cating with race control if needed.\n\nCORC needs at least 12 marshals\, w
ith two people per checkpoint preferred\, although one is acceptable. The
day starts with a marshal briefing at 8:00am\, so you'll need to arrive by
7:45am. It will be a full day\, so bring your own food and drinks. \n\nM
eeting Point\nCanterbury Off Road Racing Track car park\nWeedons Ross Road
(north end\, near the river)\n\nIf you're interested in helping out\, ple
ase let us know and we'll pass the numbers on to CORC.\n\nIt's a good chan
ce to see off-road racing from the other side of the fence and support a c
lub that shares our passion for four-wheel driving.\n
