The Christchurch 4x4 Club is a group of people who enjoy exploring the outdoors in capable vehicles and good company.

Our members share a love for New Zealand’s backcountry — from remote tracks and riverbeds to high country stations and scenic hill routes. We organise regular trips throughout the year to explore the places that most people only see on maps.

While we enjoy adventure, we take safety and responsibility seriously. Off-road driving can be challenging, and preparation, teamwork, and good judgement are essential. Our trips are organised with safety in mind, and experienced members are always happy to share knowledge and help newer drivers build confidence.

One of the best parts of the club is the camaraderie. When vehicles get stuck (and occasionally they do), everyone pitches in. Recoveries, trail-side repairs, and problem solving are all part of the experience — and usually the source of the best stories afterwards.

We are a relaxed and welcoming group. We enjoy the outdoors, appreciate spectacular views, and believe that a sense of humour is an important piece of recovery gear.

Whether you are new to off-road driving or already experienced, the club provides a great way to explore new places, improve your skills, and spend time with people who share the same passion for adventure.
