Thinking about joining the Christchurch 4WD Club?
The best way to figure out if we're your kind of people is to come along to a meeting, come on a couple of trips, and see how we do things. It's as much about you deciding whether we're the right fit as the other way around.
Becoming a Member
1. Come and say hello
Turn up to a monthly club meeting and introduce yourself to the New Members Officer. No need to overthink it — just show up, have a chat, and get a feel for the place.
2. Complete a Membership Application
Fill in a Membership Application so we can start the process.
3. Come on a couple of trips
Join us on at least two one-day trips or training days.
Your vehicle must have approved front and rear recovery hooks before attending these trips. No exceptions — if you need help sorting this, ask at the meeting and someone will point you in the right direction.
This gives you a chance to see how the club operates, meet people properly, and work out whether the trips we do are the kind of trips you enjoy.
4. Attend more trips
Once you've done your first two trips, you're welcome on many of our other trips — including some overnight ones — while your application goes through.
Before attending these trips your truck must:
- meet the club's Essential Equipment Requirements, and
- be scrutineered by the Club Scrutineering Officer.
5. Membership Approval
Membership applications are notified to all club members before being approved. This process normally takes around six weeks after completing your two mandatory trips.
6. Welcome to the Club
Once your membership has been approved:
- Pay your annual membership fee.
- Fit your scrutineering sticker to your vehicle.
- Enjoy full access to the members' area of the website.
- Come along on as many trips as you like.
Club Meetings
We meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:30 pm in the Garden Bar at the Cashmere Club.
You're welcome to come along, have a chat and see what we're about. There is no obligation to join.
